This intensive online workshop is an in-depth look at how to apply the tools of the Michael Chekhov technique to a play from both a directing and acting perspective. We will work on Our Country’s Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker. An advanced study programme, it is ideally for participants who already have some familiarity with the technique (either in workshops, training or by practising from any of the books). Newcomers are welcome; you just need to be aware that we will not spend too much time introducing the tools.
Participants will need to read the play several times in advance of the study week (instructions to follow) and throughout the week be prepared to practise and move in their virtual spaces. We will do a mix of individual and small group work. Some homework tasks will be set throughout the week.
